Management Team Meeting Report
The first in a series of Fan's Forums arranged by BairnsTrust on behalf of the club, took place in the Sports Bar of Behind the Wall on the evening of Monday 23rd January 2012 .
Kick-off was delayed 15 minutes as the delicacies of the establishment were sampled but once the top table of Chairman Martin Ritchie, Head of the new Management Committee Andy Thomson, Team Manager Steven Pressley and Assistant Manager Alex Smith took to the stage platform, there quickly followed a plethora of questions and answers.
Martin Ritchie opened with recollection of the last Trust Fan's Forum in the stand at the stadium during darker days and how things had progressed since then.
Steven Pressley mirrored this with how the team had improved in the same period working under the well documented restrictions.
Questions on the League Reconstruction meeting held last week amongst the 30 SFL teams was next up and moved onto topics such as away ground pricing, potential benefits and tribulations of safe standing and the implications of housing a low travelling away support in the North Stand, Mark Stewart situation and how the Board are attempting to attract new investors were areas all covered by Martin and Andy.
Steven and Alex answered a wide variety of queries, ranging from the transfer window interest, players out on loan, contracts, daily work of the new coaches and the attributes of a number of current players.
A fascinating insight on how the management staff have to handle the development of young players still growing and learning was gleaned and hoping no spies were amongst the 40 attendees, tactics and patterns of play were elaborated upon. Benefits of the new initiative the team "Parent's Night" were fully explained.
Tactics and formations ahead of this Sunday's Cup Semi Final versus Celtic were alluded to, with the prediction that if the players continue their rapid progress made so far things are looking extremely positive.
After a barrage of 30+ questions the evening ended just after 9pm where the top table were keen to chat further with supporters before taking a well deserved refreshment
BairnsTrust, in conjunction with Falkirk Football Club, will bring all fans the chance to meet with the management team again, through a series of meetings which are being held throughout the district. We know that many of our fans enjoy having the chance to meet with the 'team' and share their views about our club. We expect the next Fans Forum to be after the Falkirk Football Club AGM.
