Club Recognition For BairnsTrust

BairnsTrust are delighted to announce the appointment of Chairman Michael White as Executive Director at Falkirk FC. It is a temporary but full-time role and Michael has left his current employment to take up this position.

The role itself will last until May and came about as a direct result of concerns about the need to prepare for a new future at Westfield. The Trust had decided to set up a shadow board, to try to understand the difficulties facing the club at present. Trust Board members were given an outline of the current problems, and agreed to offer constructive suggestions to the club.

The Directors were open and honest about the problems they were facing and asked for constructive help. Michael spent a lot of time and effort working on a presentation to submit to the Board with potential solutions. Rather than go outside the club, they offered Michael this position to give him the opportunity to implement his ideas.

This is a first for a Trust within football and is a testament not only to Michael’s efforts but also the willingness of our current Board to accept constructive criticism and actively take steps to improve the running of the club.

Michael will continue in his present role as Supporters Representative on the Board along with George Craig and continues to be available to all fans should they have any questions. However in view of his increased workload, Vice Chairman Alistair Ferrie will take over the BairnsTrust Chairman’s duties in the interim.

We are very proud of Michael’s efforts and all at BairnsTrust wish him success in his new role.
