Dear Member,
As you quoted an email address on your application, this is the
latest, electronic update of BairnsTrust activities.
You are cordially invited to attend the monthly BairnsTrust meeting
in the Players' Lounge at the Falkirk Community Stadium on Monday
17th October 2005, KO 7.30pm.
There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any
concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either BairnsTrustWS@aol.com
or post your query on the message board at our website and we
will try to cover on the night.
The topics covered at last month's meeting can be reviewed here
Please note that the event may last up to 3 hours.
If you are unable to attend, the minutes from the meeting will
appear on our website 7-10 days later for your perusal.
One of the points raised last month concerned the cost of entry
to the Motherwell game. It appears that Motherwell FC were charging
less to home fans and that the family option was not available
at the away end. We were asked to send a letter to Motherwell
FC and the Motherwell Trust (who are already aware of this anomaly)
expressing our unhappiness with their arrangements.
A DRAFT copy of the letter has been duly prepared. We have received
clarification from Falkirk FC on the SPL agreement and are awaiting
feedback from the Motherwell Supporters Trust to hopefully strengthen
our case before finalising the letter. This copy will appear on
our website in due course.
We also have a number of projects still to be instigated that
have been requested by our members. In order to achieve these,
we do require voluntary assistance. If anyone wishes to help with
e.g. getting the Former Players Association off the ground, please
contact us by one of the methods below.
A reminder that if you wish to stand for election to the BairnsTrust
Committee for next year, again respond by one of the methods below.
In co-operation with all senior teams in Scotland, every club
has been asked by the SFA to hold a charity collection for "Children
First" during the weekend of the Celtic match on Sunday 06/11/05,
KO 2pm. BairnsTrust have been approached by Falkirk FC to help
provide volunteers for this. Would appreciate any offer of assistance
from our members for this worthy cause. Please intimate your interest
to BairnsTrustWS@aol.com, at our 17/10/05 monthly meeting or at
the stall on 22/10/05 v Dundee Utd.
If you have still to collect your free T-shirt/polo shirt for
joining the Trust this season, your order can be collected/checked
on its status at our stall in the Main Stand concourse v Dundee
Utd on Sat 22/10/05. Please allow adequate time for uplift as
there may be a lengthy queue.
You may be interested to note that further to significant demand,
we have a stock of the "Mighty Bairns 2005-06 Tour T-shirts"
now available in WHITE. These will be sold at the stall to both
BairnsTrust members and non-members at £10 each, for all
sizes.
Our first "Social Event", the outrageous Silly Connolly
(+ Venus) Night, prompted the following glowing testimonials.
"Big congratulations to Brian Guthrie and the committee for
a terrific night in the castings social club tonight and a big
thanks also to Davie and his bar staff for making tonight very
successful. To those who missed this evenings entertainment tough
luck you can only imagine how tonight went. More of the same please."
Also,
"Regards Friday night I personally thought it was a superb
night and the missus was even more enthusiastic she commented
that it was good to go to a football evening that had very little
football talk throughout the night despite it being organized
through a football body. You must be doing something right if
the wife wants to go to future events!"

also be ordered/purchased at the our stall. Details of which are:
