Dear Member,
As you quoted an email address on your application, this is a
special edition of the electronic update of BairnsTrust activities.
You are cordially invited to attend the combined monthly BairnsTrust
meeting and AGM at the Falkirk Community Stadium on Monday 20th
March 2006, KO 7.30pm.
There will be a full AGM agenda
and two proposals for discussion, but if you have any concerns
you wish to raise, please respond to either BairnsTrustWS@aol.com
or post your query on the message board at our website and we
will try to cover on the night.
Feel free to convene after the
meeting in the Amarillo Bar Bistro.
If you are unable to attend, the
minutes from the meeting will appear on our website 7-10 days
later for your perusal.
We have again written to Rangers
FC regarding their last response relating to the flag day parade
during our previous trip to Ibrox. Their reply was wholly unsatisfactory.
Although we cannot publish the contents as they were marked "private
and confidential", any further letter of such poor standard
will see the Trust escalating the matter.
The CLUB's AGM was held on Monday
27/02/06 and BairnsTrust was well represented. Those Trust members
whose sharesave matured in the past year were also permitted to
attend. A frank, honest, open and informative presentation was
made by each of the top table speakers, with the chance of random
questions eagerly taken up by the floor.
ALL supporters who attended the
Motherwell v Falkirk game on 11/03/06 benefited at Fir Park from
one of their club's "Charity Days" with entry for £8/£2
for ALL areas of the ground, with ALL the gate receipts going
to a local charity. An excellent gesture, with the bonus of a
chance to win a car. BairnsTrust were contacted to sanction beforehand
the raffle for a signed Falkirk FC top outside the ground and
we eagerly await a response from the Motherwell Trust on how successful
this was.
All football Trusts in the UK were
contacted by a student from the University of Edinburgh at the
end of last year. BairnsTrust having completed the questionnaire
were delighted to receive a reply recently in the form of a 70-page,
electronic dissertation on ... "An Exception to the Norm?
The Distinguishing Features of the UK Football Industry".
This is a fascinating read. However as it is still subject to
marking and may have ownership/publishing/royalties issues, it
cannot be circulated to a wider audience yet, but may become available
in the Summer for those members who wish to view.
The creative process regarding
the penning of a new club song/chant/anthem has been slow to get
going! Any budding songwriters can contact BairnsTrust by any
preferred method below with their work.
Our Beatles Tribute Act Night on
Friday 24/02/06 did produce a much healthier turnout of numbers
and the Trust funds were swelled accordingly.
Next up for your consideration
is ...
Quiz Night Thursday 06th April
2006, 7.00 p.m. at The Falkirk Stadium.
The latest BairnsTrust Social Night takes the form of a Quiz,
Raffle and Auction Night to raise funds for the Trust. The above
date in the warm-up area of the Stadium has now been agreed. Numbers
are to be restricted with 4 members in a team at £2.50 per
participant. A prize fund of £100 is available to the winning
team.
The format will be hosted by River
FM DJ,River FM DJ, Falkirk FC's Matchday Stadium Announcer and
fellow BairnsTrust member; Dave McIntosh.
BairnsTrust Corporate Sponsor Drew
Norloch Ltd will provide a pay bottle bar.
Individuals can be catered for
by being placed within other incomplete teams.

quiz teams" will not be permitted.

A May Social Night to round off
the season is busily being arranged at the moment by our Social
Committee.
