If you are reading our newsletter for the first time ... welcome to BairnsTrust as a new member! If you wish to review some of our previous newsletters they can be visited at the following section of the website

You are cordially invited to attend the monthly BairnsTrust meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on Mon 18/06/07, KO 7.30pm, where guest speakers will be Sales Director Dan McGilvray from the stadium caterers Alchemy Inns Ltd and Richard Smith from the Amarillo Bistro Bar who will give a flavour of what goes into organising the full matchday culinary package and will gladly field questions and suggestions for the coming season from members.

There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either bairnstrust@hotmail.co.uk or post your query on the message board at our website and we will try to cover on the night.

We will be aiming to post out the new 2007/08 Trust application form with the season ticket books and hope the PayPal option of joining next season will be of use to you. As passed at our AGM, the new subscription fee has been set at:

£5 for all adults and £0 for u-16 concessions only.

The Trust's re-election documents for applicants of Supporter's Director have now been compiled and posted to ALL entitled members. Please advise to our email contact address at bairnstrust@hotmail.co.uk if you have not received. The deadline for nominations to be with the new Scrutineer T Kopszywa (ShireTrust's Media Liaison Officer) is by 5pm on Mon 18/06/07 by post and 7.15pm if hand delivering when attending our Monthly Meeting on Mon 18/06/07. Initial indications are that there has been an increased "turn-out" of voters for this re-run. The result of the election will also be conveyed at the Meeting.

The new THREE applicants for the post were:
1.       BairnsTrust Vice Chairman Brian Guthrie.
2.       Trust Former Player’s Association Committee Member Murray McIntyre.
3.       Trust IT Co-ordinator Tom Paterson.

Still to be held is a crucial meeting between your Trust Committee and representatives of the Club Board with the main point on the agenda being the Fans Representation in the Boardroom. The Trust have been preparing our case for some time and have been disappointed that the meeting has been postponed a number of times by the Club.

After much investigation and organising BairnsTrust are no longer in a position to offer a package to members wishing to travel to the pre-season tour of Holland. Details were mentioned at our last Monthly Meeting on Mon 21/05/07 and again at the specially arranged meeting for all interested parties on Fri 25/05/07. A final meeting was arranged again in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on Fri 01/06/07. There were a few options available which were listed below and emailed to those that had expressed an interest.

Flights - These were all Edinburgh to Amsterdam unless otherwise stated.

Easyjet were giving a quote of £122.90 per person based on 50 people but this is unlikely as the return flight is busy and large numbers cannot be kept. Smaller groups could go for roughly £195.89 per person. These flights would be leaving on Wed 11/07/07 morning, returning Sun 15/07/07 night.

British Airways - Group of 30 seats were available with flights via Heathrow for £164 + £101.90 tax = £265.90 per person. Based on a smaller group of 12 this would be £175 + tax = £276.90 per person this flight is via Gatwick.

British Midlands - This was again via Heathrow but would be returning on the Monday and for groups of 30 would be £259.90 per person inc. tax. Group of 12 would be £235.90 per person inc. tax.

BMI Baby - This would have been via Newcastle returning on Monday and would have been £88 + tax per person.
Accommodation - Best offer in Amsterdam was €110 per night for a twin room which would work out at £35 per person per night inc. breakfast. 15-20 km out with Amsterdam the prices ranged from €180 - €320 per room per night.
Coach Transfers - Around €15 per person.
Total for the whole package would be around £400-£450.

This was a little bit higher than anticipated but felt was still reasonable for a full tour package, but the Trust could not gamble finances on booking for additional persons that may/may not have materialised.

The latest Supporters Direct magazine can be viewed online at the following address and amongst some interesting articles are pieces from our colleagues at Dee4Life, ICT Supporters Trust, Erin Hibernian Supporters Trust, Kilmarnock Supporters Society, St Mirren Independent Supporters Association and sad news from ArabTrust. Also included is mention of Greenock Morton Supporters Trust's Children's Activity Day and an intriguing article form James Proctor, Development Manager, Supporters Direct in Scotland on continuing to buy shares in our club even when a foothold has been obtained ......

If you were unable to attend the successful Mick Hughes Memorial Trophy Charity game between Central Scotland Police v Polmont Scottish Prison Service at the Falkirk Stadium in Sun 29/04/07 you may wish to view the "day in pictures" at ... www.fifereferees.co.uk/Photos/Falkirk2007/index.htm

A new website intended to provide information and resources to Scotland’s football communities and to assist in the delivery of Scottish Football’s Youth Action Plan can be viewed at ... www.footballcentral.org/

Finally, if you have any topics or articles you wish to be included in future BairnsTrust Electronic Newsletters, please respond by your preferred contact method below.

One such request is an advertisement from NB Travel who provide a 16-seater Coach for hire. Based in the Falkirk area, feel free to call Mob 07704 485885 for a quote.

Look forward to seeing you at the next monthly meeting where there will be a chance to win a prize for attendees!
