Games Night - Friday 21st November 2008
BairnsTrust is hosting a Games Night at Bainsford Bowling Club (Across from Bainsford community centre on David's Loan). Come along with your mates and have some fun! Children are welcome.
The night will be based on teams of four players competing in four individual events - Pool, Darts, Dominoes and Hoopla - contributing towards your teams overall score. The entry fee is £10 per team of four with an overall team prize of £100.
Register your team by e-mail to email@example.com, at our match day stall or early on the night at Bainsford BC. Teams are to be registered no later than 7.30pm.
Please bring along a raffle prize if possible.
Show Racism The Red Card
Show Racism the Red Card’s annual campaign was held at the Falkirk Stadium on 1st November 2008 in the game versus Dundee Utd. This period of concerted action encourages participation from all sections of Scotland’s communities to celebrate diversity and tackle racism. SRTRC Fortnight of Action provides a timely focal point for all those who are committed to challenging racism and discrimination in Scotland.
In partnership with our friends at Central Scotland Racial Equality Council, BairnsTrust had many volunteers around the ground on match day to hand out stickers and red cards (which came in handy when a Dundee Utd player was sent off in the second half!). Many thanks to all who contributed to make the day a success.

Urgently Needed - Raffle Prizes
As the Trust continues to fundraise and host social evenings, it is important that we have a good selection of prizes to provide for raffles in the future. This is an invitation to members, and non-members alike, to donate anything that you can to BairnsTrust that can be used as a raffle prize. Football memorabilia is preferred but anything from bottles of wine to shampoo will be gratefully accepted!
These can be handed in to the BairnsTrust stall or Stadium Ticket Office on any match day or simply let BairnsTrust know you have something to donate by e-mailing BairnsTrust or approaching a committee member and a pick up can be arranged.
A large selection of programmes are available at the BairnsTrust stall on match days and orders are now being taken for programmes from the glamour friendly between Scotland and Argentina at Hampden on 19th November 2008. Stocks are limited so get in quick to avoid disappointment or pre-order yours now by e-mailing BairnsTrust
For all those with affection towards American sports, we also have a stock of a rare Boston Celtics basketball programme. This was from the opening NBA game of this season on Tuesday 28/10/08 at Boston's TD Banknorth Garden against Cleveland Cavaliers that saw the pre-match unveiling of Boston's unprecedented 17th Banner and Champions rings presented to the team. Find out more at the Boston Celtics website and the NBA website

A good night was had by all at the general knowledge quiz night held in the Castings Club on Monday 3rd November at 7.30pm in aid of Children In Need. Thank you to everyone who turned up on the night and managed to raise over £200 for this worthy cause. A representative of BairnsTrust Committee will be at BBC Scotland, Glasgow on the night to present the cheque. Watch out for them on TV!
A successful night was also held at Grangemouth Railway Club, where TOA Taxis were hosting a charity race night in aid of Stathcarron Hospice and raised a four figure sum! BairnsTrust sponsored a race for this event and had a page in the evening's programme.
BairnsTrust are still seeking a Secretary. This Board Committee position can be undertaken by anyone, not necessarily in employment or even a Falkirk FC supporter and will receive full assistance from fellow Committee Members.
A reminder you can still collect your 2008/09 BairnsTrust Membership card from our matchday stall at the next couple of home games, before we post them out. This will entitle you to £1 off a haircut with Liz Dunsmore at our Corporate sponsors The Barbers Pole.
